Decorating is for fools

I just don’t get it.. I’m decorating A BATHROOM, it’s not the Sistine Chapel or anything. Granted, this has taken me just as long, partly due to my general procrastination and partly due to circumstance but it just seems like I’m thwarted at every turn by something or other not doing what it’s supposed to.

I’ve needed, what at least 4 coats of white paint to go over the walls, when the instructions say “Covering dark colours may require two coats”. My sealant looks like hummous and my non-drip gloss paint should just be called ‘Drip Gloss Paint”. The final straw was today after painstakingly measuring holes for a towel shelf, I drilled them (putting masking tape over them to stop any plaster cracking.. pointless, it still did) and put in my Rawl plugs like a good boy, three screws go in, the fourth just turns in the hole.. HOW, how I can drill four holes with the same drill bit using the same Rawl plug and yet one spins around like a carousel and the others are all snug.

Unfortunately removing the shelf caused two more plugs to come out of the wall taking plaster with it, which will require a fill and repaint. FUCK OFF.

Once this is done, I am never ever ever decorating again. Ever.
